Victims and Leaders

I work with a bunch of children who have a lot of mental and emotional problems. I believe with all of my heart and mind that these children need help and guidance to reach their full potential. I, also, believe it all stems from them being victimized by someone in some fashion sometime in their past. It could be a loved one like a father or mother or uncle or whatever. Really, it could be from anyone. As a result, the child gets screwed up (that's a medical term, dontchaknow). Their emotional growth is stunted. They aren't able to mature properly. They aren't what we call "well-adjusted" by any means. They have a hard time interacting with people in an acceptable manner. The reason is that they believe that since someone treated them that way, that's how they should treat others. And, the cycle starts all over again.

I bring all of this up because I don't believe that our next president (or anyone I want to lead me in any capacity) should act like a victim. I don't believe that a leader is someone who complains when something doesn't go their way, but rather looks at it as an opportunity to do great things in service to others. I don't believe a leader makes excuses for objectives not being met or the job not getting done, but rather takes responsibility for their short-comings AND makes a better effort next time. I don't believe that a leader is a selfish person, but rather someone who puts the needs (not wants) of those they lead infront of their own needs and definitely before their own wants. The complaining, the making excuses, the selfishness are all things victims do, not leaders.

A leader is the example of the people they lead and in them is exemplified the hopes, ideals, dreams, and realities of that group. The President of the United States is the embodiment of the American people, of the United States itself. The President is the figurehead of all which we believe and hold dear to our hearts.

Do you want a victim as your President? In some aspects, it may be appropriate to have the icon of the United States to be a victim due to the societal decay we have undergone since the Vietnam War and the start of the sexual revolution. However, that's not is what is best for anyone and especially not for the greatest nation that has ever been; the nation that strives for equality and liberty and justice for all mankind; the nation that longs for peace anywhere and everywhere and will fight to the last man to achieve and maintain it.

For whatever your opinion of him, know this. George W Bush refused the shackles of being a victim when Al Gore whined about how he lost the election or when he inherited a poor economy, weak military and an information society (CIA, FBI, etc) torn to shreds or when terrorists attacked the nation in the single bloodiest event on US soil or when foreign powers abandonded the US in fulfilling multiple resolutions passed by the United Nations or when he was met with constant criticism by weaker and lesser men and women who would have been more than willing to roll over and die at any one of these occurances. George W Bush is not and never has been a victim despite having some of the worst things in any lifetime happen to him and his people. George W Bush is a leader and he is MY President!

Know this, as well. Hillary plays the victim all too well ("America just isn't ready for a woman president"). Obama plays the victim even better ("America isn't ready for a black president"). Edwards may be the best at playing it because you don't even realize he IS doing it ("There are two Americas"). In fact, every democrat and liberal plays the victim. It's at the very heart of their ideology.

So, do yourself a favor. Do the United States a favor. As a matter of fact, do the world a favor. Don't vote for a victim to be our next president, but rather vote for someone who is a leader and who embodies what America was, is, and hopes to be.

God bless you all and may God please bless America for a little while longer.
